Mission

• Providing a platform to foster entrepreneurial spirit and innovative ideas amongst students, faculty and society at large

• To bridge the gap between academia and industry expectation and creating better opportunities

• Providing mentorship, training and counselling to students through workshops, webinars and other initiatives 

• Extend technical and psychological support through mentoring and provide assistance in arranging financial resources

• To foster growth through research on entrepreneurship and innovation and thus acting as the think tank of the college

 

 

 

About EDC

Entrepreneurship is considered to be one of the significant contributing factor for the growth of economy. Entrepreneurship Development Cell at Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College has been initiated to create institutional mechanism for developing entrepreneurial capabilities within the students. We work towards equipping students with required skills and motivation so as to be successful entrepreneurs. We promote mentoring, planning and execution of their start-up ideas into real businesses. 

 

EDC aims to:

• Generate awareness through informative sessions (workshops, webinars and seminars) that would help to develop creative and innovative mindset. 

• Develop Skill Competencies leading to better self-employment though B-Plan competitions, skill development programmes, innovative product development projects, entrepreneurship mentoring schemes.

• Developing entrepreneurial attitude through industry expert talks and interactions.

Overall objective is to develop advance creativity and innovation skills and to make them capable to thrive the challenging world and to become employment creators rather than seekers.

 

Short Term Plan (6 Months)

In the upcoming semester, we aim to dedicatedly work on awareness and promotion of Entrepreneurship Development Cell through workshops, seminars and webinars. We plan to organize educational programs and events on helping students develop skills needed to become successful entrepreneurs. Also, students will be provided with faculty mentors who would guide them in the process and would help them understand the feasibility of their ideas. Our agenda also includes interaction with industry experts, local organization, and associations to gain as much exposure and industry knowledge as possible.
