PUNJABI SAHIT SABHA

This year (2015-16) we have created a literary platform named Punjabi Sahit Sabha for students in Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College. Where students can learn literature, not only at academic level, but also by participating or attending various literary programmes held at numerous literary institutes in Delhi.The main motive behind this platform is to bring out creativity in students & give them exposure on public platforms. This will help students in developing their personality & also encouragesstudents who are seeking their career as writers, generalists & media person, etc.

Punjabi SahitSabha is working on the following literary activities with the active cooperation of Punjabi Department Facilities to achieve its motive. Here is the brief list of activities planned:

1. 1. Punjabi kaviDarbar

2. 2. Literary meet

3. 3. Ru-b-ruwith prominent Punjabi writers

4. 4. Visit to Punjabi Institutions in Delhi such as:

   1. a. Punjabi Bhawan

   2. b. Bhai Veer Singh SahitSadan

   3. c. BhashaVibhag of Punjab Govt.

   4. d. PTC channel& AIR, etc.

We have also included students in the Punjabi SahitSabha committee as President, Vice President, Secretary, Joint Secretary & Executives members. This committee will include students from various courses like Punjabi (H) & other Punjabi courses. This will help students to learn management skills along with the literature.

Last week on 4th Feb, 2016, we held our first programme in college itself & had a gathering of around 30 students of all Punjabi courses out which 5-6 students presented their creative writing like poems, songs, etc.

Second program was held on 6th Feb, 2016 at Bhai Veer Singh SahitSaden, where on every first Saturday month literary meet is held. A lot of prominent writers attend this meet & our students also attended this meet.

Our third program was held on 13thFeb,2016 at Punjabi Bhawan, where every second Saturday monthly Literary meet is held. Many students attended this program.

We just had only there activities till now & students are really excited & looking forward to be a part of it & learning more about literature.
